Happy/Hatty

I'm on the giddy upswing now, after Tuesday's plunge into the abyss. I'm not bipolar, but I'm the kind of person who is occasionally given the "Are you bipolar?" interview by concerned doctors. In the aftermath of any traumatic event, I fly up into a state of ungrounded optimism, buoyancy, and energy. Last night's four-hour block of sleep was the most I've had in three days, but today I'm mopping floors, delivering enthusiastic lectures on The Odyssey and brainstorming multiple blog posts.

And I'm in the mood for hats. Sage, do you know how much I love you? Your "quiet authority" remark at Denguy's place made me grin to myself in the dark as I lay awake at five this morning, picturing myself vanquishing Dr. WRE with the calm authority that no peanut butter or Special K dare defy. (It seems evident to me now that Dr. WRE is thorough and conscientious, though sadly lacking in social skills and saddled with an involuntary response of polite disbelief to even the most mundane remarks. We should pity him, really, poor man.)

So here they are - the promised well-lit hat pics (too late for Wordless Wednesday, so look at all the words up there - the freedom! the liberty!):

I'm glad you're feeling better.

I think that there are definite times in my own life when "are you bipolar" would be an astute question.

The hat photos are gorgeous. What a cutie pi!

And now I want to wear a hat. Just like that one.

No one's ever asked me, "are you bipolar" -- my craziness would fit much more snugly in the "not otherwise specified" category. At least it's fun there.

Adorable.

And I too have been feeling a touch bipolar lately. Some days so happy and in love with my kids. Others I wonder what the hell I was thinking. Glad you're on the upswing - hope to meet you there.

Oh, so glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better (and don't you just feel so productive when you can work out some of that energy by mopping and such?

Those photos are just adorable! What a cutie!

I do have to say pie looks a lot different when she is smiling and when she is not. Maybe its because all the pictures I saw before, she is smiling.

Glad you are feeling better.

Okay, seriously, are you me? My more clever alter-ego? The bipolar without really being bipolar thing - so, so, SO me. Me this week, matter of fact. Glad you too have voyaged to the land of giddy.

Gosh, that is one adorable hat!

I can only imagine that a little girl in a little hat would bound to bring an upswing your way...glad it found you, she's very, very sweet.

I got my hat in the mail this week. Uh, I mean Miss M's hat. I put the photos up on Facebook for Sage to see b/c I thought if I also posted them on the blog, the poor soul would be overrun with hat requests. Yikes. Now I want to post Miss M's hat on the blog b/c Pie is a living angel in hers. And yes, Sage is worthy of all our love.

She's beautiful!

The hat's only as good as its wearer and seriously, the Pie makes the hat look just scrumptious.

I blushed and grinned at this post, B&P. I feel like I need to be saying, "I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy."

But I'm glad you're getting sleep and feeling better. I do, too.

Glad you're feeling better... I'm like that too.

I chuckled over Sage's comment too. She was so right on.

Love the hat. And the adorable face of the little one underneath.

Glad you're feeling better. Those mood swings will probably keep coming with each eval (if you're like me), but it looks like you'll handle them just fine.

What great photos. I'm totally in love with that hat. I'd love one for my kids :)

great hat!

too often, even good doctors lack a human touch - it's a shame really.

Dude, my moods are a topsy turvy roller coaster ride too. Enjoy the high!

I'm also a big fan of hats. If only my kids would keep them on! The Pie looks absolutely ADORABLE in hers.

I had to go over and read Sage's comment and I have to agree that it's just a perfect description of you. At least the you that I know.

And, I hear you - sometimes no matter what the circumstances you have to choose to start being happy and go with it. (I do the same - and have been asked the same question)

You've been in my thoughts all week. Ugh, what a rollercoaster.

Up and down, it's the life we all lead. What a tremendous upper, though, that little girl in that scrumptious hat and that delightful, tell-all shirt.

Soo cute! And how great that you are feeling better. (I assume you still do.)

I stopped calling myself bipolar when I found that there were some people finding my blog through that. So, while I am not bipolar I certainly live with extreme mood swings.

(And meditation has helped a lot with those.)

Hooray that you're feeling better, and getting more sleep (though hopefully that will continue to improve over the next days-- 4 hours at a time still aint much!)

Love the hat. Just too cute.
