I Knew Blogging Reminded Me of Something...
"How did Ginny get like this?" Harry asks Voldemort when he finds her cold, pale, and unconscious in the Chamber of Secrets.
"Well, that's an interesting question," said Riddle pleasantly. "And quite a long story. I suppose the real reason Ginny Weasley's like this is because she opened her heart and spilled all her secrets to an invisible stranger."
Not just a stranger - a diary - a magical diary that not only receives all your "pitiful worries and woes" but actually answers back.
Should I be concerned that the first symptom of possession by Voldemort is losing time?

And it's just how I plan to spend part of my day at home. Losing time. :-) Hopefully in total absence of snakes possessed by half-dead evil guys.
wow, this is an eerily accurate description of this new addiction of mine. no worries - am I spoiling it for you? - Ginny turns out to be one of the strongest and best characters in the series.
ack. does this mean I need to stab my computer with a basilisk fang?
Isn't that the first sign of motherhood? I have no idea where the last year went.
I think my husband will get mad at me if I stab the monitor.
I'm not going to stab my computer. I just hope I don't start strangling roosters.
Great connection you've made! The diary that talks back...creepy!
It is a giant time suck. What was sympton #2? I think I'm in trouble.
LOL. It always comes back to Harry Potter, doesn't it?
Someday my child is going to read Potter and know I am possessed by the Dark Lord.
haha! That niggled at me too...
Okay, now I'm just scared...I keep hearing voices, too! (Oh, wait, that's YouTube in the background...)
Time? Mine has been lost for years...even before blogging. LOL
Wow. I don't want to hear that.
(And no matter what happens, I am not stabbing my computer, because I am sure it would bleed, just like the diary in the movie. And that seems cruel.)
Maybe I will keep Harry Pottery out of my house....
LOL. Can I just say how much I love that you're a Hary Potter lover too? *hugs*
No, BubandPie. You can trust us with all your secrets. Really.
Bea, the key problem is the YOU are my Voldemort and I, it would seem, am yours. No stabbing please?
Hilarious AND clever.
It's only when you feel strangely compelled to do everything that us commenters suggest to you that you really need to worry. Luckily though this blog monster is a many-headed, many-voiced creature so that its commands will probably all cancel one another out!
B&P, AH HA HAHAHAHAHA Brilliant!
LOL! Bravo. Excellently done. :)
I'm done for.
Well, that a billion dollar black hole that I've entered. I have a nice little lecture about how the structure of the 'self' has changed throughout history and my newest chapter includes commentary on the construction of self online. That would be Professor Matron speaking. And I am much smarter when invisible, like most magical things.
i've been losing time for years now. probably decades. every time i read a book. watch tv. blog, of course.
but most of all, when i sleep. sleeping is so overrated. :)
Oh dear. I'm definitely turning into one of Voldemort's minions then...
Uh oh...I think I'm in trouble, then. Gotta go...am after the Golden Snitch!
Hmmmm...you may be on to something.
And time has been slipping around here lately...maybe I should be worried?
I'm trying not to think about this...
I'm sure it's all part of J.K. Rowling's master plan to conquer the universe.
Uh oh....
Uh-oh.
Did I miss the part where you changed your name, Bea?
I've lost so much time that I must be well on my way.
Mimi - You're an observant one! I dithered about a name change a few weeks ago, you may recall, but all the conflicting advice stymied me, so I left it as is. But since then Mad and Sin have been diligently finding ways to refer and link to me as "Bea" and every time I see it I just love it, so I decided to take the plunge.
This is such an excellent connection. How very apt!
Methinks I'm in trouble...
Let's see, so I need a basilisk fang? Or what's it Gryffindor's sword? Or this fire thingy?
Well, at least now I have an explanation to satisfy my husband. I have been losing time because I'm under a spell. See, it's not my fault. I just was a little lonely and chose to write into this diary-thing.
Phew.
