That one's a funny colour - it looks a lot less like grey in most lights and more like cocoa. It's Benjamin Moore's Flagstone. Has anyone got any experience with that colour?
Are those the placemats you bought out east this weekend? Are you weirded out that virtual strangers know about your shopping habits? ;)
I think the colours look lovely. We painted Benjamin Moore's Nantucket Grey in our main living area and, although the undertone is true to the name, it really looks more greenish on the wall.
At the end of the day you just have to go with your gut, which colours make you smile when you see them. Our house is in dire need of repainting, but the thought of paint chips and all the rest makes me appreciate our lived in look a lot more!
I love the colors you've chosen. I can see that you are going to make sure your rooms are harmonious and I think you're doing an excellent job. I hope that you'll post a few more pics as the construction goes along.

Oh, I just have to say please don't make your walls grey! Really! You will NOT like it!
(Sorry, I get emotional about these things.)

Those placemats really are perfect. I didn't think that colour was too gray, it definitely looks grayer in the pic.
Oooh...lovely, lovely placemats...although I got all excited thinking about that being a carpet sample. Yes, I am a home decorating genius.
paint chips!!
is that a lake behind the house?
There's something so exciting about watching your home be built.
looks like you'll be debating paint swatches for a while yet
nice watching it be built!
Just put your head in the oven, it is the kinder way in the long run.
Grey, shmey...if you like the colour it will be FABULOUS!
Kind of like sharing the proposed name of the expected baby...everyone has an opionion.
A friend of mine painted the inside of her house all different shades of glossy grey and it was lovely, like being inside a pearl.
I have a grey room and it it fabulous.
That colour, though, is not grey. It is a shade of brown. I know. I saw the chip in person. And the placemats.
nice paint chips!

Magpie - The lake IS the house. The lot was partially dug out last fall so when the snow melted it filled up with water.

Can't wait to see the progression. Great shots. Happy WW!
P.S. Thanks for putting my post on your sidebar. I'm kind of honored.

Nice new placemats. They look great! :)
Love the reddish colour - has a nice vintage feel.
Very nice! I thought that the placemat was an upholstery sample for the couch.
Oh, how exciting! I want to build a house! :o)

That is really exciting. I would love a brand new house.
Nice! Those paint colours look great. You'll post pictures when the painting is done, right?

It must be kinda awesome/kinda terrifying to build your own house...I don't think I could deal with it...
