My House Will Never Look This Good Again

All the new furniture has been delivered, but none of our old stuff is moved in yet. Everything is shiny new, except for the stuff we've been picking up at antique stores ever since I bought a copy of Flea Market Style magazine and found a whole new lease on life (now that the paint chip fixation has become obsolete). Now just add three boxes of toys and about 700 books and we'll be all moved in.

I'm so glad you took pictures, because that house looks GORGEOUS!
And if you're anything like me, it won't last more than ten minutes.
Good luck with that!
Oh. I want to live in that photo. It looks so serene and clutter free. And clean.
When can I come over. You are now even closer to my family, you realize. There will be no shaking me.
Gorgeous. Even the lighting.
Wait. Only 3 boxes of toys? Huh?
How exciting! I love the colors.
Good luck with the messy parts of the move.
it looks great! enjoy the clean feel.
Oh Bea. It's gorgeous!
And is that Stone House? Oh no! I really don't have time to doubt French Toast.
Mad - Really big boxes. I haven't actually packed them yet. You think I'll need more than three?
Sin - Yep, that's Stone House in the photo of the back hall, and there's a little of it showing to the left of the dining room.
Is that color burgundy? I was thinking of painting our bathroom burgundy. I wasn't sure if that would make the whole room look dark though.
By the way, the pictures are great! It has a calming effect on me, especially after living in my own house.
Anne - It's Sherwin Williams Stolen Kiss - a straight-down-the-middle red leaning ever-so-slightly to the cooler side of the red spectrum. I really like it (even though we had to pay for the extra coats).
Congrats!!
It's beauteous! (I really like the red paint.)
Is that a WHITE CARPET? Seriously, aside fromt he fact that I have a black cat who would render it awful in no time by shedding on it, I am way to messy to even consider that. Kudos to you for that act of bravery!
I love the choices you made, it's all beautiful!
Was the three boxes of toys a joke???
Also, did you ever decide where your piano is going? And?
Beautiful! I love the paint colors.
smashing color choices.
are *you* happy with them, tho?
you only have 3 boxes of toys?
it's lovely
Wow, wow, wow! You've made such lovely selections.
It look fabulous. I envy your (fleeting) lack of clutter. Small Town looks good on you.
Just beautiful. I especially like your dining table.
OM - The piano is going to go on the interior wall - it's the one you can see a few inches of in the photo of the dining room. I guess we'll see on Friday how it looks there. It's a way to make sure of an area that would otherwise have no real purpose, but our piano sticks out a fair ways, so I hope it doesn't screw up the traffic patterns.
Deb - The only colour I'm not completely sold on is the Nuthatch in the master bedroom (the one I had to switch at the last minute), but I just bought a dark chocolate-brown bedspread that I'm hoping will fulfill my urge for a really dramatic dark brown.
I never remember to take "before" pictures. You'll be so glad you have this record of building and decorating your lovely new house.
Oh, it's beautiful! So Pottery Barnish!
Beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous. I love the red and the lighting, congratulations on all your choices.
Life's biggest stresses: death, divorce and MOVING!

I know you must be breathing a sigh of relief. You are finally at the end.
I'm sure the 700 books will hardly be noticeable.
Looks lovely!
So beeeeooootiful! Lucky you!
Gorgeous. I'm intensely jealous.
I love moving into a new house because it's clean. And I didn't have to clean it.
So lovely. Really great. Congratulations!
It looks great!
I love that table. Can it move to my house? ;)
Oh wait, it would never fit...
Wow! It IS gorgeous, through and through. So clean, so uncluttered, so not our house. :)
Congrats on moving in your new house! I hope it's a wonderful home for you.
WOW.
That looks AMAZING.
But, boy, does that house look good. And you'll know what it looks like under the inevitable stuff that will cover it!
Beautiful!
I say bring on the toys! It looks beautiful but almost a bit too spartan. Toys will give it character.
It's beautiful. Please come decorate my house!
Congrats! What a beautiful new-house home you have! Enjoy.
It's beautiful!
I want you home (before the boxes ;) )
I am thinking of using that stolen kiss color for some walls as well, however, not sure what color go with it, what color do you have for the rest of walls?
I am thinking of using that red for one side of wall in the living room and may be two in the dinning room. However, not sure about the color for the rest of walls. My family room has one side with the wallpaper with the golen, dark red, black fuzzed block. What color you used for the rest of walls?
Sharon - The other colour is Benjamin Moore Stone House. I really like it - it's a great beige to go with red, and it looks good in all kinds of light.
Hi, Bea,
Is that the color in the third pic as well? The stone house? The stolen kiss is a really beautiful color. Good taste!
Hi, Bea, one more question, is your dinning room paint in stolen kiss on all walls? I just afriad of going to be too much for my dinning room.
Yes, I have it on all three walls of the dining room (which is open on one side to the living room). I was scared to do it, but I'm really happy with it. Stolen Kiss is a really good, deep red that isn't at all purply or orangey or bricky. If you want a red that looks like red, it's a good one to pick.
Thanks a lot! I got all the color sample, can make the final decision on weekend. The stolen kiss will be the asscent wall color.
