After a few months of tweaking all the knick-knacks in my new house, I have a developed an increasingly simple decorating philosophy:
1) Figure out what makes you happy.
2) Put it everywhere.

There's something inherently summery and lovely about yellow, isn't there? My mother keeps telling me it's a "difficult" colour. I disagree. As an accent colour it can make your whole room look cheery and the way you've used it I'm sure you walk into a room and it makes you smile. Absolutely lovely.
I love the way the cat perfectly balances off the pillow on the couch. The feather, likewise, is a marvelous touch of whimsy.
Those mums look a lot healthier than they did when I last saw them. ;)
I have that red n' white cushion in the last photo! Except it's one of the square ones.
I like yellow, too. So cheerful.
That yellow cushion is perfect. So happy and cozy and perfect. It makes me think of the place that Anne stayed with her roomates in Anne of the Island.

Mimi - There really should be a blog post in there somewhere, shouldn't there? Unfortunately, by the time I heard about it they already knew it was a truck from the chicken plant. When hubby got to work, all anybody knew was that the streets were full of blood.
Yellow is my favorite color, and you've demonstrated why: it brightens things instantly.

Yellow makes me happy, too. Yes--I long ago learned that decorating technique--it's the only way to go!
