Praise Junkie
"You thrive on praise," my husband accused last night. It's true. There are few things I enjoy more than praise.
That's why I'm so fortunate to have a son who is not afraid to dish out a few wholehearted compliments now and then. After I helped him with something this morning he turned to me and said, "Thanks mom. You're really great."
I must have looked as pleased as I felt because he went on to elaborate: "You're really good at wiping bums!"

Hey, you can put that on your resume!
Much better than being bad at wiping bums.
That is something to be proud of for sure! ;)
Something for us all to strive to achieve! :0)
hey...from his perspective, it's a major skill.
but there are days i wonder if i couldn't teach my kids to say nice things about my more esoteric skillz now & then.
I guess you've gotta take what you can get.
Well, not getting thanked for something you spend oodles of time doing would be a bum deal, don'tcha think?
Ha ha ha!! There now, that's something to feel good about!
Ha! Very important life skill.
That is hilarious!!
well, we all have to be good at something!
Hah! But sometimes being thanked for those tedious things is much appreciated, no?
Here, too! We've really encouraged ours to praise others and themselves for jobs well-done, and it *does* make a difference, at least for me ;-)
